What better place to live than adjacent to Oscar Scherer State Park? Sorrento East, one of the most popular mid-county neighborhoods, offers a variety of housing styles, with approximately 600 single-family homes, 150 freestanding maintenance-free villas, and 48 multi-story condominiums. Residents enjoy its five fishing lakes, nearby boat docking privileges, central utilities, reasonable deed restrictions, public roadways and easy access to I-75. Its spacious lots and proximity to world-renowned Pine View School, as well as Laurel-Nokomis elementary and middle Schools, have attracted many families with children to the neighborhood. Nokomis Public Beach, public boat ramps, and Historic Spanish Point are all less than a ten-minute drive away.

Residents are encouraged to join and participate in the voluntary homeowner association that has, since the beginning of the community, made the neighborhood one where people want to live.

Market Activity – Sorrento East

Many different builders have constructed homes in Sorrento East since its development in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Thus, its home designs and sizes are varied and create an interesting selection for prospective owners. At any one time, housing prices range from $100,000 to $300,000. Presently, only 14 properties are available for sale in the community—one indication of its continuing desirability.

The most recent home sale involved Michael Saunders & Company agent Laura Kovac, who has lived in Sorrento East for 32 years and been active throughout that time in its real estate market. She both listed and sold the lakefront property with a three-car garage. The buyer confides that it was the three-car garage that captured his attention!
