Imagine watching the sunset over the water as you listen to live music and experience a lovely sea breeze. You’ve just enjoyed delicious Conch Fritters, your drink of choice, and you will shortly be leaving the relaxing Tiki Hut atmosphere to return to your boat, “The SRQueen”, and head home.

This month’s Off the Beaten Path features the Spanish Pointe Restaurant & Pub – a favorite hangout for residents who are “in the know”. Please know the location is under new ownership since this article was published.  Located in Osprey, this casual restaurant with outdoor dining is a short turn off Tamiami Trail (or an easy stop along the Intracoastal waterway of Little Sarasota Bay).

Open for lunch and dinner, they specialize in seafood and a carefree ambiance.  A giant Tiki Hut sets the stage for a good time with friends while you take in the beautiful Florida setting. Live music is played on the weekend and themed parties like Luau Day and upcoming Oktoberfest keep the atmosphere festive.

Nearby to other local treasures, spend the day visiting Historic Spanish Point or kayaking at Oscar Scherer State Park and then dine waterside before you return home.

You can find the Spanish Pointe Restaurant & Pub at 135 Bayview Drive.
