MSC Foundation: Letters from Those We Reach

girl_with_flowerThe MSC Foundation awarded nearly $30,000 of grants in July 2013 to over 20 charitable organizations from Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte Counties.

As the Foundation is supported entirely through voluntary donations from Michael Saunders & Company agents and staff, it can be challenging  to get a sense for how each person’s contributions (however large or small) can affect the lives of others. Over the last several weeks, we’ve received an outpouring of thank you letters from each charity. Their words of gratitude have expressed first-hand how each grant will directly impact those in need.

Ultimately, we owe each charity our thanks as they help to improve people’s lives through shelter, sustenance, education, and a path to self-sufficiency.  Their care and support go to those in our community who need it most.

The following are letters from each charity that illustrate how, as a community, we are helping to make a difference:

Kids to Kids Backpack Program

This spring, Miracle League Manasota launched its second year of league baseball for children and adults with disabilities. Handicap accessible restrooms, an open air pavilion and a space for concessions are part of Phase II. Your gift will help us as we complete Phase II of this exceptional project.

Thanks to your donation, HOPE’s Emergency Safe Shelter can continue to provide comfort, safety and stability. So far this year, HOPE’s Shelter has been a safe haven for over 300 individuals, 198 of them children.

Sarasota County youth face many challenges including stress from economic factors at home, pressure from peers to take illegal drugs and lack of connection to the community.
