Longboat Key – North, South, & Everything In-Between

LongboatKeyClubLike white sands, stunning sunsets, and a luxury lifestyle, Longboat Key is an essential element of Sarasota and Manatee County’s makeup. The island, which stretches nearly 11 miles between the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay, is the setting for lavish condos and waterfront estates. A balance of peaceful natural beauty and thoughtfully planned developments make it a recreational splendor for many of its residents.

Michael Saunders & Company has two offices on the island – Longboat Key South and Mid-Longboat Key to offer specialized expertise from one end to the other.

Realtor Hannerle Moore has been a fixture on the island since 1957. “It’s really a mostly upper end, active lifestyle,” she explained. “People love that it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump to St. Armands Circle and Downtown Sarasota for the arts and restaurants. They can stay on the Key for outdoor activities and then go into town for dinner and shopping.”

Hannerle spoke with me about the island’s many alluring qualities, from the biking to the beaches.

“There are three parts to Longboat Key – north, mid, and south – and they are all different.”

Here, we share her valuable insights and feet-on-the-ground expertise.
