The scene was London’s exclusive Hurlingham Club, a bastion of British tradition and international stature set on 42 acres along the Thames River.  The occasion was the International Luxury Real Estate Show, an annual by-invitation-only showcase of the world’s most desirable properties.  In attendance were members and guests of the Hurlingham Club, which has served as a home-away-from-home for international visitors to London for generations.  Also on hand were invited guests from as far away as Russia, China and the Middle East.

Since its launch nearly 6 years ago, the International Luxury Real Estate Show remains the only European event of its kind geared specifically to affluent buyers of luxury properties.  There to welcome these buyers, for whom owning properties in other countries is a way of life, were top representatives of Mayfair International Realty, a London-based consortium of the best independent real estate brokerages throughout the U.K.   The properties presented by Mayfair during the two-day exposition included several located in Southwest Florida listed by agents of Michael Saunders & Company.

The Mayfair International Realty network includes over 300 individual real estate offices throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.   In 2005, the group was expanded to include a select number of luxury brokerages from North America, of which Michael Saunders & Company was the first.  As such, Mayfair now bills itself as something of a London Bridge to the Gulf Coast—linking buyers who live in (or visit) the U.K. with luxury properties listed by agents from Michael Saunders & Company.
