A Water View

rowing23336129Water.  It’s an essential component of the Florida lifestyle. Water defines our borders, underscores the state’s remarkable ecosystem; and provides a 101 different ways to enjoy our amazing year-round climate.

Because of its mesmerizing beauty and seemingly endless list of recreational uses, water is also the sine qua non of the state’s economy.  Without its beaches, bays and estuaries, Florida would be just another landlocked state for tourists to fly over on their way to some other coastal utopia.

It is even debatable whether Southwest Florida’s highly-developed cultural scene would flourish as it does without the magnificence of the Gulf of Mexico to lure generations of artists, writers, performers and patrons of the arts to our particular stretch of coastline. (more…)

Why Did It Sell? – A Longboat Key Condominium for a Couple and Their 65’ Yacht

grand_mariner_balconyThe July sale of a luxury condominium on the north end of Longboat Key didn’t end the way that anyone quite expected. Realtor Michael Moulton with Michael Saunders & Company was helping his customers in their downsize from an expansive home to a more manageable condominium. But there was a catch.

Moulton explains, “My customers had all but given up on the idea of having a condo where they could accommodate their boat.”

Their boat is an impressive 65 foot yacht. They told Moulton they were interested in living on the south end of Longboat Key (which is convenient to St. Armands Circle and Downtown Sarasota; boasts newer, luxury condominiums; and provides for a sophisticated social lifestyle). As they searched the neighborhood, they indeed found exquisite units, none of which could fully accommodate their boating needs. (more…)

View of Downtown Sarasota and the marina from this $2.2 million just sold luxury condo at Golden Gate Point

When Michael Saunders & Company Realtor Linda Stowe held an open house for a $599,000 condominium at Casarina on Siesta Key, she never expected it would eventually lead to a $2.2 million dollar March purchase of a beautiful luxury residence on Golden Gate Point.

The soon-to-be buyers attended her open house. They were interested in the condominium but they were also there because they were in search of a good real estate agent. Both baby boomers, they already had a property on Siesta Key and several more in their home state of Michigan.  As Linda explained, “They wanted to simplify it down to one property that would be their forever home.” (more…)

“Infinity” Debuts, Bringing New Luxury Construction Back To Longboat Key

InfinityThe buzz in the media was palpable last week when it was announced that Infinity, the first new luxury condominium slated for development on Longboat Key in seven years, is now accepting reservations. That’s because intensified buyer demand for new luxury condominiums on the key has been frustrated by a lack of new construction to fulfill it. Until now.

Infinity, which will occupy a magnificent site on mid-Longboat Key, is offering just 11 beachfront residences designed in a sleek, coastal contemporary style.  Each luxurious residence will face the Gulf of Mexico, enjoy easy access to the beach; and command outstanding views of the Gulf and bay from expansive, oversized terraces.
