Michael Saunders & Company is pleased to welcome Karen Enis to the Lakewood Ranch office.

A Wisconsin native, Karen has resided in Georgia, Montana, New York and Pennsylvania throughout her 37-year marriage. In 2003, she and her husband relocated to the Sarasota/Bradenton area to enjoy all that Florida has to offer. Prior to becoming a Realtor in 2006, she was an educator and business professional in public relations/advertising for a multi-billion dollar corporation.

As a Realtor, Karen provides experience, knowledge, integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication and listening skills to her clientele. In 2009, she earned her Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation. As a SRES, she brings experience and understanding of the issues and priorities relevant to the needs of the 50+ client.

Karen is also a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Manatee Association of Realtors and SRES.

Longboat Village, FL – Neighborhood Video

Longboat Village embodies the lush tropical charm of the island it’s situated on, Longboat Key. Longboat Village itself was established in the 1800s. The people here take pride in building their community and making this neighborhood a home. Its cultural scene is engaging, with everything from neighborhood pot lucks to diverse social activities. It’s definitely a walking and bicycle-riding friendly place. You’ll often see residents strolling or biking to the two casual neighborhood restaurants. Access to the water is easy—there’s a boat launching ramp, and if fishing calls you there’s a pier with sinks and running water to clean your catch. The houses in this area have something for everyone, ranging from Key West to Florida Ranch to contemporary. Most of them are on the waterfront, either on canals or directly on Sarasota Bay. Originally from New York, Rae has been helping homebuyers and sellers on Florida’s Gulf Coast since 2001—where she worked out of Michael Saunders & Company’s Palmer Ranch office. A graduate with a master’s degree in business administration from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Rae spent over 36 years as a registered nurse in large insurance companies and healthcare organizations in New York City, Maryland and Florida before entering the real estate industry.

A proven specialist in golf course communities and waterfront properties, Rae has earned recognition as a multi-million dollar producer who works relentlessly to satisfy the diverse needs of her clients. Fluent in Italian and known for her detail-oriented approach, caring character, and ability to listen and respond to her customers’ needs, Rae is a perfect liaison for both local and international buyers.

The Neighborhood Report – Mote Ranch

Mote Ranch is a wonderful, deed-restricted community conveniently located just north of University Parkway off Honore—with easy access to I-75, the amenities of Lakewood Ranch to the east, and just minutes to downtown Sarasota. The community was named for William Mote, the namesake of Mote Marine Laboratory. There is a plethora of restaurants, shops and services to enjoy along the University Parkway corridor, which is connected to Palm-Aire Country Club via Old Farm Road. The Braden River borders the eastern edge of the neighborhood, and the association has provided a dock for residents to fish or just enjoy the beauty of “old Florida.” Fishermen partake in weekly bass tournaments, and there is a kayak/canoe ramp next to the dock for access to the river. This is the freshwater river that flows from the north in Lakewood Ranch down to Lake Evers, which is the reservoir for the City of Bradenton. (more…)

Originally from New York, Peter earned a bachelor’s degree from Drew University and an MBA in health and hospital administration from Xavier University. After relocating to Sarasota in 1988, Peter developed and enhanced his entrepreneurial background as owner of several businesses throughout the Manatee and Sarasota area. This professional experience served as a strong foundation for his transition to the real estate industry in 1992. Prior to joining Michael Saunders & Company in 2011, Peter worked as a business broker for Sundial Partners of Sarasota.

The Neighborhood Report – Riverdale

A great community located off SR-64, Riverdale offers a great mix of homes, which were mostly built in the 1980s through 2006 and ranging in size from 1,100 square feet to over 6,000 square feet. Many of these residences are located on canals leading to the Manatee River through a boat lock. For boaters, this is an easy access point to the river and on to the Gulf of Mexico. (more…)
